Process Re-engineering

With the economy in the doldrums and layoffs continuing in many sectors, business professionals are scratching their heads. What can we do to make things work? That is where process re-engineering comes in. A concept developed in the early 1990s, management gurus wrote numerous books on the subject.

Reevaluating standard procedures and specific business processes can focus on what is important and unique to a company's business, create guidelines everyone must follow, build consensus and better communication, cut waste, and improve the bottom line.

This past year I was asked by the Director of Human Resources at a leading software company to work on a special project for her company. She wanted me to meet with company executives and managers to re-engineer the company's product development and customer services processes. This turned out to be a very interesting project and was rewarding to both me and the company. Since then, the Manager of Software Development has told me several times how much her group has accomplished by applying the new guidelines.

Let's talk about how Leer Technical Communications can help you identify and document the processes that are effective and unique in making your company successful.
